Dear Damen Robert,
Yesterday we had... let's say... kindof a melt down. Everyone was in a bad place to begin with because of some bad news. We decided to get out of the house to clear our heads and went to a couple stores. After walking around Goodwill for a while, we found a sweet bracelet that you fell in love with. After a few minutes you decided you were going to give your dad some hell and started talking back to him. "I'm going to hit you daddy!", "NO!", and other sneaky fox things to say were coming out of your mouth. Your poor daddy was floored. You and I put down the cool bracelet and went to talk outside. Pissed is an understatement to describe how you felt. I think you must not have been feeling very well. After some escalation and a tap on the bottom, you had worked yourself up to the point of being sick and not being able to breathe. I held your hand and calmed you down, and we talked about being a good listener and why we can't have surprises from the store when we act like that.
By the time we got home you were your happy little self again. We showed Poppa the blocks we got at the store, gave grams a kiss, and got in the bath.
After this, you were the most cuddley, loving little guy I've ever seen in my life. Every five minutes you were getting out of bed to give me a kiss, give Daddy a kiss, and even Rylee got probably ten kisses. You wanted to cuddle and sing songs.
So after this ordeal, I just want you to know that we love you so much. We can get a little worked up sometimes, and our patience isn't always at the level it needs to be. This is something both Daddy and I need to work on, and we are really trying. You are helping us grow as parents and as individuals. Thank you baby boy, you never cease to amaze me.
I love you forever,
Mommy

Dear Damen Robert,
Last night we went on a date; you are such a gentleman. We went to the theater at Superstition Springs mall to see The Lorax. This was your very first movie you've ever been to a theater for. The only showing they had available was a 7:00 show and was 3D. We got our glasses and tickets, made our way into the theater, and picked our seats. I picked a row on the side and pretty far away from the next group because I didn't know how well you'd do. Once you sat down with your popcorn and drink, you were set. You were so into the movie. You were so worried about the main character when scary parts were happening. You sat completely still the entire first hour of this movie. The last half hour you got a little restless, which is to be expected. All you did was switch the seat you were in a couple times and you were happy. I am so proud of you and I'm so happy we can go see movies now. I was having flashbacks the entire time of how my grandpa, your great grandpa, ALWAYS took me to see the movies. These are some of my fondest memories. I hope I can give you the same.

Damen- 6-2-2012
Hey little dude, it's your dad. This is the first ive written on here. I really like this whole concept of what your mother is doing with this blog. i just wanted to leave a message and show that i was here helping her with it so you can see in the future when youre old enough. Damen, i love you so very much. you can bring happiness to every fiber of my being with that silly grin. we have such good times together that a lot of days i almost hope that i dont get a job and i can spend all day hanging out with you. your mother and i (and grandma) have started making a list of all the cute, funny, witty little things you say and i cant help but have the biggest grin as i read through them. it brings me such joy to think about the big strong brother you will be in 2 months. you will be the older brother that every sister needs; sweet, strong, compassionate, caring, playful, funny, and smart. i cant believe you are already three. time sure does go by fast. son, thank you for everything you have done for me. thank you for teaching me whats important in life. i love our family that we have made and cant wait to see what the future brings. no matter what you will always be my boy. i realize now that i started this message there is so much i want to say, but im afraid it wont have any structure and will be too jumbled. so for now ill tell you this so when youre reading it in the future you can gain some important wisdom; always treat your mother, sister(s), and women with the respect they deserve. they are princesses and you shouldnt forget that. dont let negative people bring you down, they only want company down at their level. always strive to achieve more and dont be satisfied with mediocre because i know that you can do whatever you set your mind to. dont waste perfectly good intelligence. and finally, never forget your family. we all love you, your grandparents and parents, aunts, uncles, and brothers and sisters. i will write you again. i love you son.
