August 30th, 2014

Dear Damen Robert,

It's a typical Saturday morning in our house. Kian is trying to go to sleep, Rylee is doing something on the Wii U tablet, and you and Dad are watching The Sword in the Stone. Excellent movie choice, by the way.

It's nice having you home. No matter how crazy it is wrestling three kids, the house seems so empty when you're at school; it's so quiet. I find myself missing you after an hour.

I love you forever baby boy,

Mommy

Dear Damen Robert,

This post was going to be about how I'm sorry for being short with you today. You haven't felt good, so I should have cut you some more slack.

That is until, I walked in to your room to you playing DS, in bed, again. We're selling it.

You haven't had it in probably like two weeks. I let you play today for an hour.

When I went to lay Kian down, I realized I never put it up. I walked in to your room, and there you were in bed with it.

Goodbye DS!

Nice knowing you!

I love you forever baby boy,

Mommy

Dear Damen Robert,

Hi handsome.

Mommy got a kitty for mothers day this year. He was just a baby and we had him for four or five months. He displayed normal feisty kitty behavior, until recently. He started to stalk you and baby sis and pounce with claws and teeth primed for attack. Mommy does not let anyone hurt her babes, even if it is her baby kitty butts.
While you were at school on Friday, after many tears and a very long drive, Rylee and I took Sledge to the shelter. When i told you at dinner, I did not expect you to burst into very real, very sad tears.
I'm so sorry big boy. Sometimes you have to make tough decisions.. and this was definitely one of those times.

I love you forever baby boy,
Mommy

Dear Damen Robert,

Today you had a rough time getting out of bed and getting to school. You tried every trick in the book except faking sick. Eventually you gave up and grumpily made it out the door.

After I picked you up some storm clouds rolled in. You, Daddy, and Ry went out to play in it while Kian and I hung out inside watching out the window.

You have had a lot of big adjustments this month: kindergarten, a new baby. I think you're handling it awfully well. Despite our daily, "stop arguing with us" discussion, you're still my sweet little man.

I love you forever baby boy,
Mommy

August 7th, 2014

Dear Damen Robert,

Yesterday was your first day of kindergarten. Look how handsome and grown up you are! Your attending Pioneer Elementary and your teacher is Mrs. Nowicki. You say she's VERY nice. (That probably means she's pretty, knowing you. ;]   )

It was strange not having you bouncing around the house all day. Quiet. Big. Lonely.

Who knew that I would miss hearing, "Can I have my DS now?" for just that fiftieth time.

Who knew that I would miss having to repeat myself?

... Mommy is emotional.

This morning before you left you said, "Why does school have to be so LONG!?" Hah! Sorry bud! Get used to it!

I love you forever baby boy,

Mommy

August 1st, 2014

Dear Damen Robert,

You're a big brother, AGAIN!

Kian joined our family on July 28th, at 7:59 am. He was almost a pound bigger than you and Rylee were! He looks SO much like you when you were born, I'm having flashbacks!

babby Kian:

Crazy huh!?

You've been spending the week with Gram, but you made it to the hospital to visit me a few times. Every time you came in to see me you wanted to hold Kian right away. You even instructed us how to calm him down if he was sad. You also asked me if my tummy was okay with genuine concern in your voice. My sweet boy.

Kindergarten starts on Wednesday, meet the teacher is on Monday. This is a big week for you, little man!

I love you forever baby boy,

Mommy
