Dear Damen Robert,
This week we've decided to try out your big boy bed. You've been excited since we opened the box. We put the bed together in your room, and you were quick to help. Nap time probably wasn't such a good time to try out the big boy bed, and that day we ended up just sticking you back in your crib for the couple that day. That night for some reason you stayed up till MIDNIGHT. NOT COOL. Mommy is making a baby here, we can't be partying all night.
That brings us to last night. I was at work and got a text from daddy saying you had gone to sleep in your new bed like a pro. Ten minutes later I got a call that you puked all over daddy's head. You got up for a while and watched Pocoyo. I got home from work and we tried laying down again.
Fifteen minutes after Daddy took you into your room I went to check on you. You were snoring, like a boss. Daddy was passed out on the floor next to you.
I love you babes,
Mom

January 25th, 2012 (WHAT?!)
Dear Damen Robert,
How is it only four months away from your third birthday? How are you getting ready to sleep in your big boy bed? What is happening here?!
Anyways, I'm writing to you today to give you a list of all the cute things you say on a daily basis.
Momma will you be my friend?
Momma talk to me.
How are you today?
It's a beautiful day!
Can I have a popsicle please?
Are you happy Mom?
And the other day you said this to your dad "Daddy will you take me to the aquarium to see the sharks and fishies?"
You are so ridiculous and handsome and smart that I can not believe it.
I love you always,
<3 Mom

January 4th, 2012
Dear Damen Robert,
Right now you are sitting next to me on the couch eating snacks and watching Diego. Who knew someone could make eating pretzels look so cute? Anyways, I wanted to tell you about yesterday.
We went to Grandma Janet's house so Daddy could help cut some tree branches. For the first bit of it, you were carrying around a wooden goose by it's neck and riding it every once in a while. Poor goose. Eventually you grew bored of the thing and ran back and forth around the huge yard. We smelled some roses (one smelled like fruit loops). Grandma, Shae, Lily, and Alicia showed up and you took off with the girls. Some time later I made a huge leaf pile for you and we took turns throwing them over each others heads. I wish I had a picture of how many leaves were in my hair. After a bit more, you ended up with clippers helping Alicia trim a plant down, always such a good helper.
I had so much fun with you yesterday, and now I have to go back to work. It rips my heart out leaving you knowing I won't see you until the next day. Three hours a day in the morning is not enough time with your smiling face. For now I know that it's necessary for us, but in the near future I hope both Daddy and I have a better job, with better schedules, so we can spend more time with you. You are what is important. Family is
what is important. Life is so unpredictable and short that this is where I need to be. You will be grown and having babies of your own before I know it.
I love you Damen,
Mommy
