Dear Damen,
Today you went from out of your mind hyper, to I hate everything, to let me get in my bed.
I want you to know that 16 years from now when you are mad at me for making you go to sleep on a school night, there was a time when you screamed you and your mother's head clear off to get in bed. You did not want to take a bath, you did not want to read a book, watch Yo Gabba Gabba, or eat snacks. Straight to bed. Do not pass go. Poor babes.
I love you,
Mommy

This is a letter I wrote to you right before Dad and I moved to Colorado.
Dear Damen,
You wouldn't believe how many times you kicked me today. We got to see you two days ago. You are already the most handsome man I know, don't tell your dad. I really can't wait until May to meet you.
Right now your daddy and I are making very big plans, very fast. We're leaving everything we know in Arizona for something brand new, fourteen hours away. This is going to be very hard for me. Your grandpa, great grandma, and great grandpa are my favorite people. I'm already crying about it. No matter how hard this is, I really think it's the best thing for you, and us. I want to give you the best life that I possibly can, and this is such a good opportunity for that.
Damen I already love you more than I can say.
<3 Momma
A couple months after we got back to Arizona I wrote this:
Obviously Colorado worked real well! That's okay. No regrets my love. We made it back in time to have you born around family, and that is the most important thing in life. I love you, always and forever.

Dear Damen Robert,
Since you inherited your love of being nude from your father, your potty training was an obvious next step. Luckily, you are a smart little gentleman who has a love of being praised. Today you told me you had to go pee, ran to the bathroom, and used your potty. Twice. You know your mommy is gleaming with pride. So the next step in development is getting a job. I think once your fully potty trained you could start at maybe a bank, 40 hours with 10$ an hour. Hey, someone has to pay for your popsicle habit.
I love you and I am such a proud mommy,
Mom

Dear Damen Robert,
I am about to shake you. It was 5:30 am when you woke me up, with your soaking wet bed and screaming in my ear. You've made a habit of taking off your diaper and peeing everywhere at night. Let me just tell you, it's freaking early, I feel like shit, and its freaking early. So we are going to go on a bike ride before mommy has a melt down. I love you. Please go back to bed.
Love,
Mom
